Lessons on Creativity From 12 Creatives
Learn how other creatives think about creativity and approach it in their own work
Welcome to Creatives Anonymous, a weekly newsletter that explores what it means to be a modern-day creative through essays, interviews, and commentary.

I don’t have a new essay for you this week. Instead, I thought it would be nice to reshare all of the interviews I’ve conducted so far for this newsletter.
Since starting my newsletter, it’s been such a highlight to get to talk to my friends, family, and peers to learn more about their creative process, how they think about creativity, and how they approach it in their own work.
Here are 12 creatives to be inspired by and the lessons they shared (I know I am):
Play the long game (CK Galope): How every move we make and experience we have builds the foundation for our future.
Always a student, never a master (Danny Swan): How we always need to be learning to improve our craft.
Lean into your inner “nudge” (Kristina Bleiler): How we need to follow our intuition and listen to our gut.
The Power of Being Multipassionate (Mischa Winkler): How being multipassionate allows us to pivot our careers and develop a zone of genius.
What makes “good” art? (Lucas Adams): How we can judge art based on its meaning to us.
Chase Your Imagination (Curtis Circelli): How imagination is the driving force behind the creative process.
Embrace the Creative Evolution (Nick Mann): How it’s natural for our creative work to evolve as we develop new skills and chase new passions.
Stay Curious (Coco Aramaki): How curiosity fuels creativity and encourages us to play.
Creating as a Path of Self-Discovery (Heather Raney): How we create as a way to better connect with ourselves.
The Battle of the Brains (Achilles Dabrowski): How our best creative work comes from using both our right and left brains.
The Millennial Life Crisis (Nina Mascheroni): How the work we choose and our career path can support the kind of life we want to live.
It’s Time to Reframe Our Inner Critic (Zoe Shields): How we can say goodbye to the voice in our heads that tells us to keep playing small.
